abit done today, firstly here a pic of gearbox which i cleaned up (with illegal substances)

then honed the block and fitted new core plugs



also put it back on engine stand, fitted new main bearings and put the crank back in, i get some photos of that next time

these came today from qed. rod bolts main thing i need so i can start bottom end rebuild now

hmm i always thought con-rod bolts were funny torque bits
any way this looks well spiffy mate, good one

nope not all rod bolts, you're thinking of ARP rod bolts (in the vauxhall world)

lots more done on engine today, first job was pistons in



shot underneath of crank back in with rods bolted in

oil pump also back on

then water pump in and fitted crank gear and that bolt dont half have be tightend up, 250nm + 50 degree angle
