the power supply for the fog lights comes from the sidelight output from the main headlight switch, which will be the switched feed INTO the rear fog light switch. therefore when you turn the headlights off / sidelights off, the fog lights go out.
well i believe...

I did what Harvey said but I ran wire from headlight into a aftermarket rocker switch I bought! Will then make fogs turn off with headlights as Harvey says! Also you can actually feed the wire through the actual grommet, no need to silicone then, just pull back some tape til got just grommet and lube wire and should slide through! Also it's a green/white wire you need on headlight switch, there's a few so check Haynes to identify correct one

Attempted to start to wire up the fogs,
again the only part confusing me is know which wire to splice into..
As the rest of the circuit is made up as it was Gazza's and all the other ends are just Earths that need .. Earthed.
Got the Switch in place..
Now, the hard part, which wire ..
And this is the gromet under the Glove box i was gona use...
Can i please get more help on this. ive tried searching and looking at the Haynes but cant figure it out
This coming from a guy who wires up CAT5e cables for servers and telephones and fixes phones etc

Both the wires go on the side light feed... One is for the light to light up (don't think it worked though...) hope that helped!
sorry I haven't replied to messages or anything, in turkey and just got wifi at a bar
hope the bumper and deflectors are okay!

Is it just me or is your front fog light switch in upside down?

Yes its upside down as i wanted the graphic to point the other direction.
----
Spliced into 3 different green/grey wires. 2 were thickish, 1 was thinner.
ive earthed all the "earths" on the EGR earth wire bolt all on top of each other.
starting to think that its a bad earth causing a break in the circuit maybe ?
Can anyone PLEASE point out which is the Side light feed.
i can take more pictures if it helps

mangaged to get the fog switch to light up using one of the wires spliced into one of the green / grey wires
so that just leaves one more wire to splice, but it does not activate the fog lamps
so the bulbs in the fogs are either dead, or .. theres still a bad connection somewhere.
ive had to wrap it all up into a plastic bag and leave it sitting in the passenger wheel arch as its through the gromet now.

now my driver side seat belt wont connect into the catch.
its like fix one problem , gain 3 more problems, as the eml also came on this morning for a second or two.
really getting sick of the car, it should be a pleasure fixing it up and modding it. but ive had nothing but problems. If i could id sell it and buy a new car, but i cant.
so im stuck with the money pit.

The grey/white wires are the side light feed for the fogs bud... Should work then

still need to get around to getting the arches, skirts and spoiler stuck on.
and still need to wire up the fogs. the weather hasnt been great for it
My engine light has been coming on and staying on latley.
i have its a feeling it could just be a sensor.
what ive noticed tho is when the outside temp is about 12c or lower when i start the car the engine light dosnt come on. seems to be when the car heats up or the outside temp is over 13c
any ideas ?

mmm,
ive now noticed the outside Temp reading starting to flicker. it normally only flickers if its around 3c to warn that its cold.
id say a Temp sensor is starting to go.
i took a video of it, but was driving at the time so il upload it later when i get home.

Flickering temp switch is just a loose LED i think.
Bought a new Tool Set today, as up untill now ive been using useless set of rusted tools
Set me back £70
Also bought a set of clamps from B&Q which are really good, so il be able to try and use them to fit the arches and glue them into place with the CT1
Dying to get arches back on to take the dirty look from the car.
few days ago, looked inside the water bottle to find some nice chocolate milkshake, prob due to adding the Rad Weld...
so done and engine drain and removed most of this, dont think it would make good screen wash tho...
Engine light still coming on, just never got a chance to pop over to my mechanic to try if his computer will read the fault, even tho ive been told computers dont work on the X12XE - 1.2 16v engine, worth a try tho cause i think his is the real professional looking job.
