i was checking mine today, dosnt seem that thick at all. i dont want to take it out of the wrapper yet tho. but it seems thin. im sure its standard tho, dont want them too thick.

ive welded alloy before.. anyways crack really isnt bad at all and is right at the top of sump too so better than being at bottom, ive just filled it with some special stuff and ill re-use it and wait til engine's running to see if it leaks or not. if it leaks then ill get another.

ill chance it lol. i dont think it will leak, crack is really small and thin, plus filled over it to now! have to wait and see i guess

Nah I mean even if it was brand new you'll never stop an xe sump leaking lol doesn't matter what you do the joint is terrible! Mines always wet

been to vauxhall earlier, i brought a few bits and bobs i needed but thought id get oil filter too, was surprised there only £2.25 from vauxhall

Stripped down my head today, cleaned it up and fitted new stem seals, although damage 3 of them so need to buy another set, good job i got time on my hands with this engine i suppose and got plenty time to grind in the valves too as got wait for new seals
