its the police, need their speedo calibrated or they cant pull you
well not their speedo, whatevere they used to catch you speeding, so if they compare your speed to their own then yes their speedo
but its usualy their radar gun, it has to be tested and calibrated daily if they are unable to prove its been calibrated that day they cant use its evidence
was once with my friend doing bout 110 in a 40 zone (its a dual carage way with fields ether side so no pedestrians about dont worry, really shouldnt be a 40 but anyways)
he was stopped by police who wer waiting at junction
obviosly he was speeding we knew the police knew but since it wasnt a traffic car n they had no proof that he was speeding,
my friend theirfor clamed he was doing 40 and nothing the police could do, obviosly they wer really not happy about this and evey single time he is out in his car now he is stopped and checked regardless.

just to also clear sumthing up its NOT ilegal to have bigger wheels on than standard
fitting 17inch wheels wont affect your speedo that much unless its at speeds of about 70 or above in which case your not legaly alowed to go faster than 70 anyway!
all manufactuares make speedos diffrently so there has to be some margin for error not to mention the fact that most modern cars now days dont come with a spare wheel, they come with a teeny tiny space saver, in which case they wouldnt be able to sell them if they wernt legal.
and yes smaller wheels will make your speedo apear your going faster than you actualy are which is the opposit, but regardless its an inaccurate speedo.

i know that having 17" wheels is not illegal, but it is illegal if the outside diameter of the tyre is different to standard. if you get bigger wheels, it just means you need to get lower profile tyres to keep the overal radius the same

1.0's have 54bhp and 1.2's have 49bhp, i think its something to do with the 3cydr thing. Dunno but they are more powerful, but have a lower top speed i think

the gearbox ratios are slightly shorter in the 1.0 than the 1.2 makes them nippyer off the line but a slower top end.
