the 1.4 16v is as strong as any other engine, aslong as its looked after as in regular oil change spark plugs, cambelt etc, i had one and ragged it, limiter most days and it never did it any harm

and the 8Vs head gaskets gone becuase of the crappy oil that was in it when i first got it plus theres a missfire plus the engine is full of gunk and i fancied a twin cam engine

where are you from? as i got the 1.4 16v that was in my car in the yard covered up, just needs a new valve, comes with gearbox shafts power box inlet loom ecu exhaust 4-1 and a dyno read out for 106.2hp, can have it for £250 as power box inlet and exhaust cost that alone

1.4 16v engines defo a good engine to go for! both mine and pricer made very good bhp on dyno's at pvs with powerbox

yeah, decided i wanted something with a bit more power
and sumthing that wont be heavy on insurance, plus my 8v will probz need a rebuild soon

declare as standard 1.4 16v thou i would. if you get powerbox u should have around 105bhp or more and 1.6 16v is 106bhp so may aswell be declaring you have 1.6 and thats loads more insurance than 1.4
