i dont think you will again alot from porting and polishing your head, as my mate does rallying with vauxhall engines.
if you want a very quick car get a gte nova gearbox(f13) and put a 4;1 diff in it will give you 107mph at 6000rpm.and very rapid!!!!!!!
i did in in my gte group 'n' rallly car and it was so quick say good bye to scooby up to about 80mph
would do it to my corsa but i use the motor way alot.

dan, if you're gonna drop 60mm, you HAVE to ensure your wheels are thhe right offset. that is the only thing stopping you from dropping it.
You ideally want some wheels wit ET45-49. Vaux ones are ET49, so if you can get some of them, you will have no worries. ET45 you will get away with, so long as the wheels arent 7J. I had problems wit my Pro Race's on my daily because they were ET45 and 7j, so they scrubbed a little.
But if you have the correct offset, there will be no worries!

you really need to stop gettin Adam and Paul mixed up!!
Adam knows alot more than i do, and i learned most of my stuff from him!...
The offset should be stamped into the back of the wheels somewhere. Either on the spokes or in the centre somewhere. If indeed they did put it on at all.
If its multifit, the likelihood is that they are ET38ish.
