Yeah should be alright recheck in a week and see if the new pads are using more of the disk
Yeah if the handbrake is to loose it might be bouncing up and engaging the switch, it's only the fluid when going around corners

If it doesn't fit,
force it,

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
Got to work in once piece today Johnny and didnt end up in the back of anyone
unlike four other cars that did on the work commute.
they still need some time to bed in, but i think i can start to feel the difference. Again thanks for the tips and advice, really helps to bounce a few questions back and forward.
Yea the handbrake when engaged over night, when i take it off. The handbrake light kinda stays on or flicks on and off.
So what i do is kinda pat the handbrake leaver down and it flicks off. In the Haynes it says it should take 8 Clicks for the handbrake to be fully engaged. I get up to 8 Clicks and its as light as a feather, so it really does need adjusting at the rear axel. the rear brakes shoes where fitted not that long ago, plus the cars been sitting up for 9 weeks when it was in getting the passenger door repaired and resprayed.
I really enjoy doing the work yourself, as you get the satisfaction of doing it, and you know peace of mind that the work you done is to your standard and not a rush job.
e.g i got my oil sump plug replaced and i asked the guy while he was doing it could he drain the oil and replace the oil filter. well the oil looks nice and clean from the Dip Stick, but im unsure if he replaced the oil filter. the filter cap looks untouched so i have my doubts. to me that's a lazy way, if your gona do a job, do it right.

Yeah it's never that bad aslong as you know they need to bed in
I'd usually adjust the handbrake to 5-6 clicks, 8 I find isnt just tight enough, the handbrake is easy enough to adjust once you figure out the knack to it
If you wanted you could replace.the filter for peace of mind, you'll need to top up the oil again and keep.a couple of rags below the housing because it'll spill out

Johnny whats can i get away with when buying new brake discs ?
i had bought vented ones in the past for a corsa b but when i measured i felt they would not have fitted.
is it just the Solids i can get away with without changing out the calipers ?

You can fit vented if you want, micksgarage is good for deciding brand and vented/solid
You type in your reg and it comes up all the parts that fit

Im building a website freelance for someone i know. So that covers the cost of the Corsa repair / respray.

Daniel: Welcome to MicksGarage. How can I help you?
You: Hi Daniel, i replaced my corsa brakes last week, and plan to do the discs as well just wanted to double check if i can fit the vented ones Mintex Brake Discs MDC322 Item code: 1313414
Daniel: One moment and I will check
You: there are solid ones on the car at the moment. wanted to check that there will be enough clearance in the caliper to accept the vented ones.
Daniel: Okay unfortunately you wouldn't be able to use the vented discs unless you were to change the calipers on the vehicle to a set that were for vented discs

I had vented disks before I went for solid carbon so they do fit, the set I linked might not though they are 7.5 mil thicker which I didn't notice first time

She might not fit johnny, heres an old post i had about it what you think ?scorpiotn1 wrote:This is my current solid disc and caliper set up, i dont think its gona fit ( thats the good think about alloys, you can clearly look through the gaps to see the disc, cant do that with the steel wheels on
Oh and also need to add that, the guy used the Stick on balance weights not the clip on ones

Re: Corsa B 1999 1.2 16V "1-7-11"
yea i tried to research it too,
i think the 1.2 corsa is solid discs
1.4 / 1.6 corsa can take vented
or i can upgrade and replace with,
2.0 astra
