Going back to the point you made about me removing light switches etc, thinking i was putting them onto stalks. I don't know if you or anyone else on here has read last month's Total Vauxhall magazine. But i really like the idea of the cruise control feature being added to your car. Wonder if it's feasible on a corsa!?

Went and picked up my new dash today! It looks so
!!!
Once it's installed i'll get some pictures up! Won't be for a couple of weekends though as i might aswell change the scuttle panel and (hopefully) the a pillars at the same time. This weekend hopefully i should be changing my brakes over to calibra one's.

Ok so been a busy sunday for my and myself!
Nothing different car apperance wise at the moment other than adjusted tracking.
We spent the day (as it was pretty sunny and calm! until the last hour
) painting parts ready to get them on the car.
We sprayed the vented wing in etch primer as had to repair the 2 dents in it so took it back to bare metal! (haven't got any pictures of this as put it away before thought about camera!).
Next up were my alloy centre caps. As the alloys are chrome but i can't get any chrome centre caps (they don't do them anymore) i bought some silver ones. Don't like them silver with the chrome so i've been trying to decide whether i want them white or black. For the time being i have decided on trying them white. If i don't like them they are eaiser to paint over then! (Unfortunatly the picture doesn't show the true whiteness of them!)
Then we moved onto the black painting and painted the scuttle panel and the middle section (plastic bit) of my rear bumper! (Can't wait to get these bits on my car!)
We then finished off by filler primering a few of the interior parts.
Hopefully if the weather is decent next weekend i shall try and get the bumper on, try and primer the wing, but another couple of coats of filler primer on the interior panels, and try and finally uprate the front brakes! (Aslong as finished rubbing down and painting the caliper brackets!)

Cheers both,
My dad does most of the painting using his air compressor and spray gun! (He isn't a painter, far from it, he taught himself!
)
I do spraying from a can, like the filler primer, plastic primer etc. He won't let me near his spray gun, gotta get my own,
thats when got some money.
So his job is the painting mine is the preperation! Rubbing all the panels down, degreasing, rubbing between coats etc. Works well like that!
It's just a shame i'm not going to be able to get the Gsi front bumper on before the show, the backend will look really good but the front end is going to look pretty standard!
Which is a shame as i had major plans for the front end!

Cheers,
I've only got one handle on at the moment in painted black.
I haven't got round to sorting the other side. will try and do it this weekend. I changed the one side when i changed the door.
Hopefully you'll see it soon Carl. It prob will still look a bit of a mess when you first see it tho! Hopefully by PV Show most of it will be sorted tho.
I'm having trouble with my centre caps. You guys wanna give me some suggestions?? (i'll try and get picture up tomorrow!)
I've had a look what the white centre caps look like on the chrome wheels and they are very white (Like a milkyway button stuck in the middle of a piece of card) Now i don't know whether to keep them like this (something different) or try them black? Other option is spray them chrome but i very much doubt they wil be the same chrome colour! (and i'm worried about to much chrome!)
What you guys and gals think?

I'm not sure about no centre caps. It shows the horrible rear centre hub bits, and shows the biolts that eventually go rusty! I'd rather them be covered up. Just can't decide. I wanted them white to match the car, but they look like someone has stuck them there, black i'm worried would merge into the sideskirts and brake calipers and also look like someone has placed them there, and i've tried silver (almost grey) they didn't look right. Only other option is chrome them but then i'm worried about to much chrome!
Very difficult this one!

Ok haven't added anything for a while so here's what i've been doing recently! Coments welcome
The last few days I have been taking the dashboard out of my car and wiring in some new bits! (Central locking, running wires for the Gsi foglights etc) This is how the car currently looks!!)
I'm at Santa Pod in less than 2 weeks (and my car looks like this!!)
I have also been preparing/painting some more body parts etc to try and get them on the car before the show.
(Some interior panels and inside vented wing primered ready for top coat)
(Inside and outside of vented wing painted!)
(Interior panels painted black and the eyebrows and 3 arches repainted black as didn't like the finish before (one needs redoing again
as it's flaked/bubbled))
And finally painted my centre caps chrome (as didn't like the look of them white) and an interior panel.
I have done a few more bits like painting the a pillars white and more of the door handles but i haven't got pictures of these yet.
Hopefully i can get all this done and on the car by PV!
