if you want just power then the c20let engine with the turbo is avalible but

if you want performance get th x16 engine and you can do a hel of a lot to it and it doesnt bog the front end down :)

and you can get a hel of alot of bhp :D

hope it helps

not much room! I've only just got enough behind my 20SVH...so you will have to start chopping the bulkhead to get the carbs to go onto a C20XE. (Redtop is no longer a valid term. Further usage will result in warning and eventualy banning!) :coffee:  i hate that word...

the "redtop" came out of a completely diffrent car and it like well goood :)

thanks

right...the c20xe/20xe (also know as the 'R' word i refuse to say) and the C20LET are not the same. not entirely anyway.

The main difference is in the bottom end, but the head is slightly different too.

For starters, the 'X' in XE means the compression ratio is between 10-11.5:1.
Whereas the 'L' in LET means the compression is 8.5-9:1.

The lower compression is required for the turbo to allow more air into the cylinders. Therefore the Pistons are slightly different.

The head has slightly bigger valves and the ports are also bigger, to enable it to cope with the increased airflow.

In laymens terms, that is the difference between the two.

The first letter in the engine code is the emissions spec.

Pre-cat engines dont have a letter. e.g. the engine in my GSi is in fact a 20SEH, as it does not need to meet euro emissions standards.

there was not a CX Dan!

that help!?

no, there is a C20LET and a Z20LET. the Z20 is from the likes of the mk4 astra GSi. its the later version that is basicly the turbo conversion usually done on the Corsa C's. there is a couple of B's with them in, the Brothers Grim have a f**k mint example...
