just sounds like faulty wiring to me
only way to resolve it check the wiring with a multimeter and check the connections behind the dash and stereo

not really much can be done till its all been checked im afraid!

Mine used to come on when the indicators cancelled themselves...so I had to constantly cancel them manually before waiting to complete a full turn for them to auto do. They flicked on and off but it's not good..

For that had to replace indicator unit..but the problem you're having like Octane mentioned definitely sounds like dodgy wiring.

I've been having the same problem with mine.

I'm hoping i've sorted it now.

This is what i did.

Take the cowling (sorry can't spell) off from around the steering wheel. Once this is done you should notice three/four lots of wiring going upto the steering wheel. First try disconnecting the plug for the indicator stalk and the putting it back in. If this fails try wiggling the wires. Then if still no good try wiggling the wires that go to the ignition barrel. If this doesn't work try wiggling the thin wires that go to the control box underneath the ignition barrell. I did this several times and at times wiggled two sets together.

Touch wood :) it's working ok now.

Let me know if it works.
