sri problem

i ave a problem on my 1.4 8v sri, evarytime i put my foot on the clutch 2 change down a gear it cuts out at a junction, wen i start it bk up its fine then, and at the next junction it cuts out agen, can anyone tell me the problem plz

Try taking the injector off the engine and give it a clean assuming its a single point injection model as most 8 valves are.

nope its multi point lol and thay brand new avent been on tha car a week, but the batt light is on but very dimm

The battery light could be down to the alternator but I wouls chnge the battery first.

As its a multipoint injection I has an idle control valve so I would take that off and give it a clean with carb cleaner and see how it goes.

the idle control valve is new, the alternater is new and the battry is newish, could it be my fuel pump? i knw my dash is out of a gsi and its playin f**k wiv ther rev and speedo

nope there is no management light on lyk, the battery light comes on before the management light, it will not idle wen i put my foot on the clutch

There doesn't need to be a light on it may just flicker without you noticing get it on tech 2 mate.

i ave found out wot it is now, the idle control valve is stuck and i tryed freein it but it wont work i put it in WD40, duck oil, derv oil , derv and petrol and still wont move

Try using some carb cleaner and a blower if that doesnt shift it get a new idle control valve not expensive try allparts or lloyds motor spares.

vx wonts £67 for one, il go 2 the scrappy or il ave a look on ebay for a new one

Mate Vx charge rediculous price so I always use Allpart or Lloyds but a scrappy or Ebay should be fine.

Also try http://www.autovaux.co.uk/LoadPortal.aspx?tabid=2. There pretty cheap in comparison to Vaux and very good delivery.
