I have just got my first corsa a new engine after the cambelt snapped.
We have fitted the engine and got the car fired up, but it idles at around 4000rpm!!
When we bought the new engine it came bare so we swapped everything we needed from my original. As far as i know all the wiring is correct and the engine management light is not staying on. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks, matty_corsab

maybe the accelerator jammed open? try WD40 on it to loosen/clean it up, if the new engine is old and dirty. OR it all new and shiny? If so then no idea. Too complicated for the likes of me :9

Problem solved thanks. The lad who fitted it hadnt fastened the inlet manifold properly. Once that was sorted she ran sweet as a nut! Now the only thing is the engine management light is on and it wont rev above 4000rpm!! Still she will be ready for Santa Pod after going for the past 3 years in mates cars!
