Post by corsa89 »

Rite i've quite a few questions so bare with me
I've got a sony xplod cdx s2200 headunit in my corsa b 1998 5 door now
Im looking to fit a sub.... about a year ago i fitted 6x9s in to the parcel shelf and fed all the wiring through the door pannels so this is not completely new to me
The sub will be a
Fli Trap 12" Active MK II Active Sub with in built amp.
* Max Wattage- 1000w
* RMS Input Wattage- 300w
* Frequency range- 25-1200Hz
* Wiring Kit included

Now does any one know where i can find like a guide to fit the sub... and will that sub be compatible with my headunit (any wires or splitters i will need?? other thn what will com in the wiring kit)

Thanks for any help

the wiring kit should have everthing needed for the wiring, howver, if u want all tidy connections u might wanna look at gettin a crimpin set. Any sub is compatible with any headunit assuming it has RCA output connections and a remote power on function. The RCA outputs are not 100% needed as can be wired into the left/right output for the door speakers from the back of headunit if really needed but this might make the overall sound level lower as drawin wattage away from the other speakers, especially if in series and not parrallel circuit. You will need the headunit instruction manual to figure out 100% which cable is the remote power on cable on ur headunit. It is normally the blue one, however, dont hold me to it. This will need to be cut and spliced so that you can feed off of it to tell the amp to power on when the headunit does, do it about half way down the length of the remote power cable from the headunit so you have some room for error, (dare i say it) the headunit needs to be wired back up to the remote on wire again once you have spliced it or it will not turn on automatically with the engine, if at all.
