Right so as im a tramp and have no money (well until i get paid..started my new job today)...
i was gonna drill my airbox.. then eventually get a k&n filter panel...
now i know theres a big debate on whether this should be done or not...
but i was thinking about making some sort of cold air feed from the grill at the bottom of the car to direct cool air towards the box?
any one got any ideas?
wen i get paid im so gonna do some work on my car... and first off will be a lovely £7.95 debadged grill

ive done the exact same, but instead i took the air intake pipe inside the airbox so it was taking air straight into the box, rather than blowing at it
i bought a 50mm pipercross air feed intake kit from my local halfords. drilled the box too, and have a k&N panel, and it does make a nice roar at 3k rpm, or when u slam ur foot down
so my box is taking in cold air all the time
rather than a 57i kit that can suck hot engine air.

It does matter if you suck in hot air, im sure i replied to a post similar to this the other day. Hot Air = Poor running/performance.
If your skint, get your debadge grill, fit that bad boy. Then when you have some case, get a K&N panel filter, wack it in the standard box (undrilled), then if you want to improve air flow into the box, remove the cold air feed that is linked onto the front of the standard air box (that catches air through your grill) and replace it with a larger diameter pipe. Be careful if your cold air feed pipe is straight, if you wash the car/get splashed or rain gets down in there you will know about it. If you look at the standard cold air feed that goes into the standard air box it is a curved pipe.

my cold air feed was amazing!! it was a scoop that was attached to the bottom of the front bumper and scooped air up to my induction kit!!.. if u put on an induction kit and look down u can see the ground so i just made this scoop and at about 90 mph+ you could defo see a change in power!! twas quite mad
