I own a 1 litre corsa GLS which is only supposed to be group 1 insurance and it's costing a ridiculous amount to insure me on it. I am paying £163 per month with Quinn Direct
and it's starting to get annoying now i'm skint all the time basically haha. I have been told of quite a few people that it's just vauxhalls in general that are expensive to insure is this true? I am only 18 can some other people comment on how much they are paying and with what company or jus give me advice on where i can get a good deal.
Cheers

Hello mate, that does seem like a lot to pay for a 1.0L.
Firstly, how long have you had a full UK license?
Do you have any points on your license?
Is the car modified?

Right, so you are in your first years motoring.
I would advise, get a quote for either your Mum or Dad as policy holder and you as named driver. Also an easy way to get a slightly lower quote is to put your mum and/or dad on your policy as named drivers as that lowers it.

That's the thing i forgot to mention i am on it with my dad and his partener. I would really like a policy of my own but if the prices are ridiculous with my parents on it imagine what it's gonna be like with just me. I have just got a quote off conused.com on my own and the cheapest one was endsleigh at £2'900.

i suggest u get a chek done on the car,if its had damage or something in the past it will put the insurance up...u cn text the reg plate to 83600 and it gives u all the past history like if it was stolen or had crash etc..only costs £3 outa ur credit.

Try doing a quote without using the reg, just put the make/model then select the correct engine size. This way you will see if its the actual car thats putting it up or not.
£2k for a 1 litre on your own at 18 with a few months experience is wrong mate, without a doubt that is wrong

when i was 20 and just passed my insurance on my 1.0ltr was just over £800 for fully comp on own insurance etc. Was then with Liverpool Victoria! I had quotes from anything from £800 upto £2000 when i was 20!! Phone around and try adrian flux!!
Now after four years still fully comp etc with all mods declared its down to something like 500! (Think it might be less than that!) (Now with Adrian Flux
