clutch help and emmisions

when i was traveling home from college i got stuck in a big traffic jam noticed it was gettin increasingly harder to get in gear
i have adjusted gear linkage made no improvement then i adjusted the clutch cable made it much better but nearly out of specified pedal movement in haynes manuel will i need new clutch

emmisions problem was car passed last years mot got a new cat for it but still double the rating on CO will this likely be the o2 lambda sencor

yea could be lambda get it on a diagnostic machine will see if theres ne faults with the sensor
or any other sensors failing for that matter that could cause

is the paper clip test as acuurate in practice as diagnostic machine

truth is i have never done it
but i suppose aslong as you read it right

and btw it dosnt work on all cars
the 1.0i for example
