Mates have told me just to cut the standard springs and paint them, and others have told me just to buy lowering springs same MM all round, and others have told me to lower the back more than the front because the weight of the engine! could any1 give me some advise please :D i have put 16inch alloys on 195/45R 16 80v

40mm is the most u should lower it...mabye not even that tbh cos when full of passengers u may find the wheel scrapes against the inner wheel arch. But i've not got round to lowerin mine either yet...so wait and see what others gotta say.

i agree 40mm is good i lowered my gsi 60mm on 195/45/16 and i ended up having to do quite a lot of arch work so unless you have the time, effort i would go 40 mm also dont be cutting the springs, it will cause nothing but probs, go with a entry level kit shocks and springs, should be able to get them for less than £200 :)

yea...get a full suspension kit...be worth paying the money tbh. Spax, Gmax or Koni are your best bet tbh. Weitec may do one too, and they are usually good value.

You will be able to lower up to 60mm if you are using vauxhall wheels or wheels with an offset of ET45-49. If the offset is lower than 45, go to about 40mm.

that should sort you out!

i've got FK coilovers on my corsa and their set about -70mm and i've had no rubbing problems on either standard steel's or 195/45/15 vaux alloys :)

id go for a full suspention kit, ether struts and springs or full on coilovers
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OPEL-COR ... 240%3A1318
cheap and cheerfull

had some of those on mine handled like it was on rails, quite a hard ride tho especialy on low pro tyres :S

for your branded stuff will probably give u better ride quality but will cost alot more
the choice is yours :)
