NEED HELP FOR ORDERING PARTS - Idle Control Valve

ok, ive got a corsa sport 1.4 16v, and it needs an idle control valve! what is the engine code for a 1.4 sport? x14xe? because i need to order it before the mot in 1 weeks time!? help would be appreciated!

Engine code is X14XE
The part number you need to order is 17113196 (this is the Idle Control Valve). Retail cost is £57 + VAT
We can supply the part cheaper, but unfortunately not in time for your MOT.
What are the symptoms which make you think the ICV is needs replacing??

it stalls all of the time, unless i keep the revs up until it heats up then its fine!

what do you think this could be?? it takes 2-3 minutes of reving up to 3000rpm before it will idle correctly at 1000 rpm! but say its been running for an hour, when it stalls, it fails to idle correctly again, even though its heated up!

Does sound like the ICV, but to be honest I'd try cleaning the throttle and the ICV first with a bit of carb cleaner. Will save you the expense of buying a new one.
It's a bit of a fiddly job removing the throttle body and ICV on the X14, but not impossible

what do you have to do? is it located underneath the exhaust manifold?

It's not at the front of the engine, its located at the passenger side behind and beneath the ignition module.

Taken from another source...
Remove the battery,
Drain a couple of litres of coolant and remove the coolant expansion tank (i siphoned it and ended up with a mouthful
),
Disconnect the wiring plug to the igntion coil, then undo the 3 femal torx bolts holding it to the head. Now move it to one side (with HT leads still connected)
Now we have access we can get going. Undo the male head torx bolts that hold the top inlet manifold. Then you need to undo the 13mm head bolts that connect the top inlet to the throttle body. Disconnect any vacuum pipes and note where they went. Now lift off the top inlet manifold
Now disconnect the throttle linkage (there is a pin on the ball joint you have to remove to get the throttle cable free), and the induction hose that goes onto the throttle body. Now there is 2 coolant pipes at the bottom of the throttle body that you will have to disconnect (now you will be glad that you drained some coolant
). With all this free you can rotate the throttle body and pull it up. Now disconnect the wiring to the IAC valve and TPS and its out...
With the throttle body out you can remove the IAC valve (2 bolts) and the TPS (2 bolts) and replace them with new ones.
Re-installation is the oposite of removal but use a new throttle body gasket and new top inlet manifold gasket. You might also want to clean the throttle body while you have it out using a carb cleaner.

thanks very much m8! ill be putting pics up on my project log tonight hopefullhy! lost my phone when i was driving last night! but i aint passed my test, i drive on my uncles private road so its around there somewhere! thanks very much for the help! just one thing, before i buy a new ICV do you think i should try injector cleaner? just incase there may be poo in them?
