ball joints

Post by jarjar »

does any body know what differance there is between early and late types of ball joint for the corsa, mine has the late type ones fitted but is a 94/95 m reg,it has silly neg camber on the front, so if i put the early ones back on will it make any differance ?

I dont think it makes a difference mate. The only thing i remember is that if its PAS or non PAS the ball part of the joint is slightly smaller.

yea...i had this problem last week with my lower arms. The holes on the late spec ones (97ish onwards) are further apart, and the arm, slightly shorter.

In short, they wont fit properly, and you will have problems. If you want, i have a set of brand new lower arms (with bushes) you can have for £20 + postage and then you will have a full late-spec (and slightly stronger) pivot set-up. :) Let me know if you want them.

ok so older style have a longer arm and shorter joint and newer style have a shorter arm and longer joints (along with differant hole spacing) :meh: that would explain the daft amount of negative camber, mind you it turns in well and sticks like poo to a blanket just a shame its unstable at speed like it !

errrmmmm righto ive done some diggin about today and ive come to the conclusion that ive no idea what im doin with this bloody car  . i bought the original type ball joints expecting to find that the arms and tie bars had been drilled to accept the bolt positions from the later type joints but no nothing, so as i see it now, the car has the later type setup but i cant understand why it has so much negative camber, any ideas ? :?

i always thought you could adjust the camber by adjusting the bolts that connect the suspention strut to the hub

https://www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk/store/pro ... 2256&page=

seems theres special bolts you use, funny that i thought the camber was adjustable on all cars
o well live and learn

but have a look at that link, theres even a vid explaning how to fit.
