Hi all,
have read many recent posts about pro's and cons of fitting cone filters, drilling air boxes etc etc.
All I can add is this: Dont waste your time drilling,or spending £30-£60 on a cone (depending what supplier/type)
de-restrict your Air box as per the link below it really does work and costs zero.
I did it today and it is really easy to do, just follow the instructions.
If your expecting a huge differance forget it. What you do get is a throaty suttle growl and a more responsive throttle response for sure.
The three bits you take out can be re fitted at a later date if need be and if you wanted a spare Air box system to play with my local breakers were quoting £10 so that gives you an idea of price if you want to go that way. Thought that wasnt a bad price as it is less than the price of a replacement filter alone from Halfords, Bargain.
In any case if you go with this mod your filter will get dirty quicker and should be replaced more frequently than in the standard almost fully closed system.
Enjoy my brothers.
I'm off up the garage to start stripping off those horrible plastic bash trims off the sides of my motor, me thinks a little more than a 5minute job.
