hi there,
my bass has started to distort really loudly and sometimes completely turn off until i turn it off and on again. sometimes it sorts itself out if i go over a big bump but then if i go over another bump or round a sharp corner it will start distorting again! i have figured this could be the earth wire attached loosely, but as it is a boot build, built into the car from before i bought it, i dont know where the earth is wired to, and i cant get in touch with the guy i bought it from to ask him. so before i start ripping out the carpet etc. just to make sure, is it definately the earth wire or could there be another reason it distorts? thanks

its sounds like you have some form of a short,be it earth or positive, dirty contact or possibly a wire trapped and breaking down, allways a problem when some one else done the installation.

two most common places for earth location in corsas are either one of the bolts holding the rear light clusters in place, or more common still is one of the bolts that secure the rear seatbelt clips. then again it may just be that the subs are cheap and on their way out mate cos they are pumped to hard to often!
