I have an ECU from a 1.6 Gsi, does anyone know if it will transfer to my 1.4 SRi 16v?
I've heard the car won't start because the chip in the key doesn't match the one in the ECU, is this correct?
Is there a way around this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: GSi ECU swap
I think they are both Multec S ECU's so they might swap but I wouldn't count on it I think you should try find the correct ECU.
As for the key issue. Its the immobiliser in the ECU that needs to read the correct code from the key this also needs to match the transponder in the ignition.
Chips in keys and transponders can be replaced so if you buy an ECU make sure you get a key chip and a transponder with it.
