Is it true that the dump valve can be fitted without the need of the turbo ? and if yes how/with what do you fit it.

you can only have a dump valve if you have a turbo, it realises back pressure when gear changed giving the sound. the only way you can have a 'dump valve' on a non turbo is the electric sound effect, but as said above not worth it, imo steer clear. :)

you can get those saber fake dumpvalves that just sounds like a dump
http://www.potn.co.uk/p1617000.htm
they do sound realistic and are simple, its essentialy a speaker that plays the sound of a dump valve when you change gear
and you can also get them whistlers that fit in the exhuast which makes a sound like a turbo spooling up
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXHAUST-TAIL-PIPE ... 240%3A1318
which arnt very good and dont really sound realistic

but id stay clear of both as its as fake as taking off your vauxhall badges and fitting a ferarri one

i do, wouldnt go back to NA for anything
(save for a wankle rotery engine in my next car!)
altho i dont have a aftermarket dump valve, still dont see the point of em when the standard one works fine.

you cant just bolt a turbo on it
best bet (and what most people do) is fit an engine thats already got a turbocharger like the c20let
its the cheapest way

lol yeah engine with a turbo already is the best bet.. i was looking into getting a turbo for mine but theres no point the ammount of money you spend changing everything else thats likely to blow under strain your better off spending it on a 2.0l T jobby :D (2years and counting for me :D) lol...
You could always resort to an mp3 sound of sumithing swooshing lol jus turn the volume up when you change gear :| lmao !

IMO, fake = ghay! Just don't do it! If you want the sound, buy a turbo'd engine! Like I plan to do!
