Hi,

I have a 2000 corsa 1.4s. By the look of the key its a spare or replacement. looking at some of the other corsas that are the same they all have alarms as standard. should my car have one? if so how do i find out if it has and how do i get it to work?

any help would be appreciated.

what model is it?
the only models to have an alarm as standard are the CDX and the sport

however it could have been an optional extra so anyone buying a brand new one could have payed extra for one fitting.

its a 2000 corsa 1.4ltr sport yeah? should have one. does it have central locking when u use the key to open the doors? if so it probs has an alarm system fitted. u just need to find out what frequencies the functions operate on then programme a new key fob to em. if the alarm is trainable that is. might have to go to a vauxhall dealership to find out that info though :(

hi mate the 1.4 sport had a factory fitted alarm as standard it is activated and deactivated on the central locking when you get out of the car lock the doors on central locking then twist the key further to engage the dead lock and the alarm is now activated, look at the centre consol at the hazard switch and you should see a red l.e.d on which willsloly flash after ten secounds if it does all is fine, as to your key it should be a vauxhal replacement as it has a chip in it that coinsides with the ecu
