Speedometer Illumination

Hi Guys (and Girls)

I have a corsa and the speedometer lights are not very good...

basically the speedometer (doesnt have a rev counter) is illuminated by a faint glowing ring around the edge of the speedometer, i was wondering if it is possible to have the actual digits and markers illuminated individually rather than buy a dull glow?

Vehicle Details:

Car: Vauxhall Corsa
Year (Reg): 1998 (R)
Trim Level: Merit
Engine: 1.0i 12v 973cc

As you can guess this is a basic trim level and this comes with the basic dials (only has the speedometer, temp and fuel guage, minus the Rev counter).
The dials are illuminated by a dull glow from the sides of the dials (not actually illuminated from behind)

have u turnd up the dimmer dial thing ?? a had the same problem when a 1st got ma car coz a didnt no the they dials had a dimmer switch lol its just below were u turn the lights on

My car is a basic level trim so it doesn't come with the dimmer switch

Why don't you buy a set of clocks with a rev counter. They are illuminated from behind which shines through the numbers unlike the clocks without the speedo.

If you current clocks start at 0mph then you can plug and play the new clocks. If starts at 10mph then it still can be done but needs to be wired up from somewhere which I don't know.

I had the ultimate of basic, and mine included the dimmer switch. It's the unmarked sideways wheel below the headlight controls.

im suprised you dnt have a illuminator dimmer ..... but if you dnt best bet id say it to upgrage to newer dash.
