Looking at just getting a panel filter for now , looking at 2 in particular, its either a green cotton one or a k&n.
I think the green cotton panel filter is the one im going to get but i thought id just ask on here first ?

id go for the green cotton, have one in my ibiza well worth it

Well i got a k&n in my corsa and it seems to be working well but ive never tried a green cotton one so i dont know.. Tbh there aint much of a difference between them anyway - a filter will only gonna give u an extra 1-2hp at the max and little more responsiveness so you won't notice the difference between the two brands. Just get the one you want or if your cheap like me the one with the smallest price tag. lol
