Carb Conversion

I Was wondering if i could convert my single point to carbs ?? ive seen it done on a nova but not sure ....

What engine are you thinking of doing it to, I know that your likely to see at least a 10HP increase from doing this because that is what was lost when SPI units were put on the engines.

I think most of the heads were modified to give more low down torque when the engines were changed to SPI so just changing the head and the inlet manifold and removing all the now uneeded electricals from the engine would do it.

I wouldn't bother to be honest and I doubt it would pass the MOT emisions test.

the 1600 8v's respond well to the carbs...and can be great engines to drive twisty roads on.

the 1400's, i wouldnt really bother for a road car. For competition use where you may want a 1400 to stay in class, then its worth it...but just get a 1400 16v (x14xe) or a 1600 8v (e16se). :)
