Hi, i bought a 1.4 16v sport with a powerbox fitted in place of the inlet manifold. I thought great, heard good things about them. When i bought the car it had a few bits miising, and had strarted to be stripped. Now ive done all that was required.

Ive checked all the gaskets etc, all is sealed ok. Im not 100% sure on where all the hoses go. Doesanyone have one of these fitted, i dont have the instructions, and there are hoses all over sucking air!!!

the car idles up and down, on gentle throtle it will rev ok, open it fully and it just dies, too much air? or vacum not right? anyhelp would be good, a diagram would be even better!

Thanks.

Andy

well the best thing to do is to re-fit it to factory spec and get it running properly ......then do some research on this powerbox jobby ...never buy a car that is half finished ...especially where engine components are concerened !!!! so go to the scrappy and get a standard set up ..evrything will be preety simple to connect up !!! :) ...and yeah youre right if its sucking in more air ...its just running lean and not getting a good mixture....why did you buy this car knowing it did not run ??????

Two things ive thought of - maybe the powrbox is actually fooked - like its simply broken and aint working right. Or what about resetting the ECU of the car? I know its reccomemded when there is only a small increase in air flow - induction kit or even a deristricted airbox so with such a massive increase maybe its old setup cannot handle it. Simply disconnect the battery for a few hours and it shud reset it. Btw if uve got a radio u will need the code for it. Then let it idle for a while b4 revving it. Just a suggestion as it is a pretty simple thing to try
