i got a 1.2 corsa merit think its a 93 not too sure thing is its buggin the sh1t outta me becouse when in jams it overheats within 5minutes. im wanting to put a bigger n better engine in it soon but all depending when i find one. but want a new way of cooling it down as keeping the heaters on in the sun is a nighmare thanks in advance

How hot does it get does the radiator fan come on?
The fan isn't ment to come on till 100 degrees your safe up to about 105 thats when you should be worried and putting your blowers to hot.
how long does it take for the engine to get to normal running temp of 92 degrees
If the fan isn't coming on then you need to check if the switch that is screwed into the side of the radiator is working, easy to do unplug the electrical connector get a paperclip and short the socket the fan should come on. If the fan does come on then the switch is broken, if it does not come on then its another fault, fuse/relay/wiring/fan.

most of the time its the switch and you just need to replace it, you need to drain the cooland from the radiator take the old switch out and put a new one in then top up with water and anti freeze.

if the fan is working but it still gets too hot then it could be your coolant needs flushing or the thermostat isn't openning fully, hopefully it will just be a coolant flush as it not so easy to replace the thermotsat as the timing belt needs to come off.

you will be alright up to about 110, at about 100ish your fan should come one, cool it down and then switch off
run your car sat on your drive let it warm up, see how hot it gets, the fan should come on and watch your temp gauge drop

yea the fan comes on at 90 i think but its pain in the arse as in like 5mins or just sat at the lights its near 100 maybe its me panicking just i dont want it to overheat thats all lol thanks for replys
