X20XEV conversion in Corsa B

Post by B-X20XEV »

Hi all.

I am currently busy with this conversion into a '97 corsa b.

The motor has been fitted, but im having some electrical issues. I'm using the standard Corsa Ecu and harness/loom. Some of the plugs are obviously not the same, so i had to cut off all the plugs that dont fit on the ecotec, and replaced them with the plugs that do fit, obviously colour to colour.

My problem is now that i dont seem to get spark nor fuel when i try to start her up. Any Suggestions? The plugs are dry, nor does the fuel pump seem to work when i try to swing it. But it does go on when i bridge the fuel pump relay. Another problem is the coil pack, must i use the original corsa coil or do i use the Ecotec's coil? The minute i plugged the corsa coil in, which have 4 wires (black/red, black/yellow, black, brown), the brown becomes a live when i try to start it, this has now resulted in a blown coil pack. On the Ecotec's coil on the other hand there are only 3 wires on the original ecotec plug, black/yellow, black/red and a black wire.

Any other things i could check that might be faulty? I Checked the Crank sensor and replaced it and still nothing.

This is giving me grey hair.

Thanks

The engine should still start though. This conversion has been done before, using the corsa's ECU and loom. I'm just doing something wrong.

Are there any other wires that should be bridged or is it very straight forward?

I wouldn't even attempt to start it if I didn't have the right ECU

You really need to get someone with auto data etc to print out the ecu pin data for you for both the the car the 2l came from and the model corsa that you have so you can cross check all the pins to make sure you have the wires where they need to be, are both cars multi point injection?

if your corsa started as an spi then the ecu wont run the car, nor will the fuel pump as the pressure will be too low.

I have asked an auto electrician to come check it out, but he can only come later this week or I'll have to tow the car to him, but due to work, thats not an option at this stage..

I have the pin out data of the corsa's ecu and ecotec, yes both motors are multipoint injection.

Just for interest sake, both the fuel pump and the fpr have been replaced. Guess i'll have to wait till the end of the week. Another looong wait. :(
