Hi every1. I just got a new MFD unit after bodging mine a while back (i twisted the bulbs too much inside it and ripped some of the metal contacts where the bulbs go so they wont connect). The problem is that although im pretty certain the new one is a working unit it will not work at all with my car, its not just the bulbs either - it just won't come on at all. I then had a little look around the units and found that the part numbers are different, the unit has a shaded area between the sections where mine has black plastic bars and a load of components on the circuit board are different - for example the resisrer on the back says 10 ohm 10% and the one on the other unit says 10 ohm 5%.
Anyway just how many different MFDs are they that i need to watch out for and should they normally not work like this or has the guy sold me a dud?
Any help would be appreciated

the % is jst how much more or less then the figure it allows.
best bet is getting a mfd from the same spec engine as yours

Yeh i think that would work - its just annoying that alll the ones for sale dont say the donor car so ive basically got to ask anyone i get it off to tell me the engine of the car. Bit of a bummer really lol
