Bumper Issue

Right, So im looking for a car to buy before im 17 so i can, 1) Get motivated to pass, 2) To have something to play around with and work on.
I find this 1.2 Merit on Pistonheads and end up visiting the bloke.
He turns up in a 1.6, (maybe a Sxi dont know), and shows me around the merit.
I end up looking at some of the fault's it's got and knock him down a bit and end up buying it.

But here's my problem.
We both added eachother on facebook and it seem's as though he's had this car for a long long time and gradually modified it to look a bit newer and colour coded.
Ie, Whacking a spoiler on and painting the front bumper.

Im aware of the fact this has the parts off the 1.6 he has bought because he has moved the parts he liked off of mine, the 1.2, onto his 1.6.
So now i have 3rd hand parts on my car that he actually hasn't put on very well. ie, the spoiler and the grille and the headlamp. :(

But now im 17 and 10 days away from my test, im getting a bit ticked off looking at it because it still has the sh*tty plastic back bumper on it.
You know, the merit back bumper without the edge thats usually colour coded.

So my question to you guys is.
Shall i try my best to ignore the silly plastic bumper and get on with modifying it properlly?
Or...
Can i buy a 'edge-painted' bumper off a newer corsa and whack it on mine and paint it?

Which leads me to another question,
Any of you selling one? (if the answer to the previous question is yes. :) )

Oh and another thing i was thinking of doing;

Painting the bumper and the wheel arches flame red to suit the car.
But ive only ever seen this done once on a Corsa. (Maybe looking in the wrong places)
Which didn't look bad, but then that means i'd have to then paint the front aswell to match the back and then maybe a black bonnet or something to brighten up the front of the car.
I dont know!

You can imagine.
First car and im nervous about screwing up it's looks.
But i really cant stand the plasticness!

Someone help me regain the love for my motor. :)

u could just paint the bumpers u have flame red..or get some newer ones and paint em...corsas look mint in red with black bonnet, especially if u go for black alloys as well.

Yeah but thats the thing.
No one has said it looks silly or nuttin.
I think it looks poo and i hate it haha.
So i just want some idea's of someone that has maybe had the same decision to make or whatever. :)

and yeah, i think that's what i'll do when i get the bonnet sorted.
paint the bumper's & arches red.
i think it would look a bit bland with no fancy bonnet. haha. :)
