I currently have a 1.2 16v but i want a bigger, gruntier engine, but i dont really want to be changing wiring loom/harnesses!
is there an engine swap that can be done like a pre ecotec GSI engine that doesnt require a wiring swap?
thanks in advance

Re: Engine swap
I dont think so cuz all the engines have ecus and different electrics. Remember a bigger more powerful engine will also need an uprated gearbox, uprated drive shafts and wheel hubs, uprated brakes, uprated suspension (not just lowered) and probably some front end strengthening as well - to put it simply u need a new front end on your car lol

THe thread above is for a 1.2 to 1.8 conversion the read up sound fairly simple, the guy is still using the standard 1.2 g/box and drive shaft etc, and says mounting wise it is straight forward , but that is because of the specific engine type he chose to use which is a small block 16v 1.8l.
Have a read it might tick some boxes for ya.
