Hi everybody, jsut wonderign if you could help me with a few things to pass my MOT
i have

Refusal Items

nearside rear brake hose ferrule excessively corroded
offside rear brake hose ferrule excessively corroded
offside rear coil spring incomplete
offside rear brake binding
rear brake application uneven
offside rear wheel bearing could not rotate wheel

advisory note

nearside front shock absorber has light misting of oil
coolant leak
suspension joint nearside lower dust cover split/missing

Has anyone got any tips or ways on fixing these would be greatly apreciated

would half 2 be new brake hoses and coil spring.
ud half 2 take the wheel of and make sure the adjusters r not sezed and adjust then or the handbrake cables could be sezed.
then probs be a new wheel bearing

on the coolant system ud heed 2 do a presure test and see were its leaking from and then ud need 2 change the shock and new suspention joint sudnt be that expensive.

yea the guy in the garage said about £100 which aint to bad but i wanna have a shot at the simple things, put the haynes manual to use lol.
he showed me where it was leaking from which is a plus, any idea where i can get some of the parts from im on ma way to the scrappy soon.

u could gt a the shocka nd the spring from there bt the brake hose the joint the handbrake cable and the wheel bearing would be best 2 gt brand new coz if u gt them second hand there stil could be sumin rong wiv them if u gt me.
£100 aint bad for all that 2 be done anyways m8t im a mechanic and were i work that would brobs work out 2 be around about £200 to £250 ish so tht price is gd and ur best bet 2 gt the parts would be a dealership or a car parts factor sumthing like that.

oily shock is NOT an mot failure so long as i still damps correctly

It might be worth going to a scrappy and poping a drum off a car that feels like it has a good wheel bearing, take the shoes/brackets and wheel cylinder and hoses aswell if they look good but tbh new hoses whould be safer, you can get the rear springs out if you unbolt the shock and lever the beam down whilst your there, most of the fail items should be sorted by giving the brakes a good going over on that side, chances are the wheel bearing is fine it's just that because he couldn't check it because the wheel was binding he had to fail it to cover his ass.
