Head Unit powers on but No sound :-(

Hi guys, i have a problem on my corsa B... recently fitted some new 6x9's and new front door speakers. i just used the existing speaker wire that was for the front speakers and for the back, i cut and extended the wire for the 6x9's. everything is running off the Head Unit which is an old sony xplod i had lying around. it sounded brilliant and worked flawlessly for months on end but then suddenly i was at the petrol station and switched my engine off, then when i switched it back on the Head Unit powered up but there's no sound at all coming from the speakers (front and back) at all. they cant possibly be blown because i dont play music loud and both sets are brand new.... When i switch the ignition on all i hear is a slight 'pop' sound from the front right speaker and thats all, head unit powers up fine. i even changed the head unit and the same thing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Check the fuse in the fusebox, and in the head unit.

Hi, I've checked both fuses and they are fine... Going to see if it works with the old speakers now

i had this problem..and found one of my front door speakers had come lose and was touching the metal of the door..for some reason this stopped all sound.

make sure all speaker wires are connected up in the back of the stereo and the speakers (black and red). my mate had the same with his car bt it was the left side, he got new door speakers and it now al works so must of blown them ? have you been pumping them to much ? lool

problem solved guys i replaced all of the speaker wiring for the components- seem to have done the job just fine. its still a mystery to why it needed replacing lol :-S
