insurance help a guess

anyone know what the procedure is if your car is stolen??
my car, my lovely corsa b 1.2i ls in crappy maroon with blue led's in dash, kenwood stereo, and fuji camera in boot was stolen last night
from my road
so not happy, so i phoned the police :/ and my insurance who said they would phone back, which they didnt, and while i was out the police came.
so what do i do? do i ring up the insurance, or do i leave it? and do i ring the police again or what?
its the first time iv had to make any claim so a dunno

Do both. You neeeed to speak to the police as you need a crime number for when you speak to the insurance.

got that, and phoned ma insurance to make a claim, and they said some one will call me back in a few mins, that was ummm a few hours ago

lol decided against makin a claim, it would make my premiums go skyhigh
gettin a new car soon, but i cant find any corsa's
may have to settle for *gulp* a fiesta

No offence but WTF was the point in paying for theft cover if your not going to make a claim?
Imo if your car is stolen as long as all precautions had been taken (not left keys in the ignition or something thick like that) then insurance comps shouldn't be able to penalise you, after all they accepted the risk of having to pay out for theft when they sold you a policy that covers theft, I just think it's wrong to charge people extra for the privalage of having something stolen from them.
Heck you wouldn't get charged extra for a non fault accident so why get charged extra for a non fault theft, The police recovery fees piss me off too but thats another topic.

most people probably wouldnt be bothered but personally id go huntin the mofo down!

iv actually got some leads lmao, but with no car and a wide area of where the mofo usually dumps his cars, i cant do anything about it
