hi there, on one of my rca cables, one of the end connections has like snapped. is it okay to chop the whole connector off the end and replace it with another one from another cable? cos i cant be bothered re-snaking it through the whole car again! so could i just connect the red ends and the white ends together? or should i really rewire the whole thing?

thanks but how you mean they're easy to wire up? there are 2 very thin wires inside, a red and a white. and theres also some other random wire that isnt covered in a plastic cover, just bare metal strings. i dont know what to do!

The metal string is the shielding, you sometimes connect it to the plug but it isn't always necessary. As for the other 2 wires, you'd have to solder them to the new plug.

It may be easier (Though less secure) to splice another cable end on, either with screw terminals or crimp connections. It may be ok, but if they're really tiny wires they may not hold. Soldering would give a better connection, but depending on where the cable is can be a complete pain to do.
