hi guys this is really p*****G me off!, my corsa seems fine driving around then suddenly for no apparent reason especially when slowing down for a junction etc the battery light comes on then goes out along with the oil light and sometimes the engine light and the bloody thing just cuts out, i have limited car knowledge but i checked the battery which seems fine, i had a similar problem on an automatic vectra i had for a while, and it also had a oil and filter change so no problem there i think, any ideas will be much appreciated, thanks

Sounds like the EGR valve. Remove it and give it a good clean then replace.
Had that problem myself a while ago but an hours worth of aggressive driving cured it. :o)

Also try an clean the idle control valve and throttle body with carb cleaner even if that doesnt cure it will make it run abit smoother

thanks for the advice, some people have suggested that it could be the ecu?, i went to vauxhall and they said they will run a diagnostics check for £50, do you think this is a reasonable price or do you suggest looking elsewhere?

Diagnostics? Do the paperclip test for 2p.

no it makes no noise whatsoever it just dies at the junction, looking at the rev counter it idles at about 800 but as you stop the revs go down to about 200 or it just dies, and if you wait like a couple of seconds the revs go back up to 800, weird eh i duuno whats wrong with the bloody thing!
