Sub looks cheap
Spec of yr sub....
Diameter - 12\"
Diameter - 305 mm
Impedance - 4 omhs
Frequency response - 26 Hz - 2 KHz
Sensitivity - 92 dB
RMS power handling - 250 Watts
MAX power handling - 500 Watts
Cone material - Treated cellulose
Surround - Butyl
Basket - Steel
Now check the spec of the subs I can offer
Oz Audio
http://cms.purecarsound.co.uk/modules.p ... &prodID=13
and
PowerBass
http://cms.purecarsound.co.uk/modules.p ... &prodID=74
First thing you will notice is the price difference.
The main difference is quality and build. When buying a sub you should ask yourself do you want a cheap one that won\'t actually handle the power that you want to put through it and secondly do you want a Sub whose coil won\'t start smelling of burning after 20mins of solid playing?
At the end of the day, the \'cheap\' sub will work with the amp you have but how long will it last before you have to shell out another £50 for a new one? . will back me up on this, I had Boss Audio kit on the shop site, he has 2 (bought before I aquired the trade account with Boss) that now need re-coning, that\'s one of the reasons I am not selling them anymore, the build quality is not very good.
The Powerbass subs however, Dave from Utopia Audio (Official Importer) has 9 x 15\" Subs in a walled in his demo van (Pics here
http://www.purecarsound.co.uk/Utopia) , that every Sunday evening at the MKCruise, get a pounding, we arrive there at 7pm and every 20 minutes blast out the subs for between 20 and 30 minutes. the same subs have competed in several DBDrag events, played at Max Power Ace Cafe for 6hrs solid last week) are still showing no signs of wearing out or needing replacing.
Am not trying to push my kit onto you, but am asking you to think about quality of a sub rather than how cheap a sub is, as I get tired of seeing people at cruises with cheap kit installed that blows up when they try and push it too much to make their install sound louder than the car next to them!

That is true, but it also depends on how the install is done, a 12\" sub correctly boxed can be louder than a 15\" sub in a poorly build and designed enclosure.
My reply above was referring to the quality of the kit I sell and how you may pay a lot more for quality kit, but it will last you a lot longer than something that is very cheap.
Have a read of the FAQ\'s that Dave (aks thetroublemaker) wrote for me to put on my site and some forums.

Cool! Many happy returns for tomorrow.. ah the memories, my 18th, being thrown off the suspension bridge (as featured in Hollioaks) into the river Dee in Chester.... Just wondering what my mates are going to come up with this year for my 30th!!!
