corsa 1.0 x10xe engine management problem

hi all

joined today in my quest to sort out my corsa b
when driving engine magagement light comes on and loss of power
can't do paperclip test cause of engine?
can anybody please give me any idea what could be causing problem

PLEASE HELP ME

is it always when driving? or on and off?
whats the idle like?

idles fine just happens when driving
dosn't stall or anything just got no power when light comes on

mass air flow meter buddy

cost you about 60 or 70 pound

its attatched by your air filter the pipe off the air box your see something which normally has two security torx well mine did undo those and its like a cartride and you can see some thin pieces of wire thats it

i bet you cant rev at all as soon as you put your foot down it stops building revs like its turned off but its not turned off

if i removed the maf and cleaned with carb/contact cleaner would that work for a short time

umm im not sure if im honest worth a try i suppose a way to find out if it is the mass air flow meter is to take it out and give it a run see if its any different
if so then sorted
i dunno if you can clean them i just replaced mine

it might, i did it on a clk230 kompressor the other day and it made it worse. disconnect it and see what its like :)

just take it out should be fine your fuel consumption will be crap so dont do a long run like

TO ALL THE GUYS WHO GAVE ADVICE
I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A BIG THANKYOU
REPLACED MAF AND NOW RUNS AS SWEET AS A NUT
GOT PART OFF EBAY £28 DELIVERED BARGAIN!!!!!
