engine slugs on power..

I have a 1L corsa, when it reaches 3 and a half thousand revs, it slugs and the engine feels like it struggerling. Then the engine management light comes on? It has got worse since i fitted a custom air filter to the car.
It doesnt always do it though?

please help.

whats the MAF?

The car also has a massive flat spot at 3 and a half thousand revs.

Try disconnecting the battery overnight, this will reset the ecu and possibly fix the problem.

I cleaned the MAF.
the car now runs fine!
But now the engine management light is always on.?

Reset the ecu.

yh thats cus they dont have self learning ecu's so you cant reset them, you need a new airflow meter, or try the paperclip test and see what the fault code is....
