chip help!

Post by sam_sport »

im looking at buying a chip for my corsa 1.4 sport, to increase power to 104bhp,
are they hard to fit? because im buying the chip alone.
im just wondering if i can do it myself or if a garage is gonna have to do it!
thank you!

and if you know anything else i can do to increase power, does swapping my manifold for a 1.6 manifold make much difference?
thanks again!

problem is, chip tuning alone isnt really going to give u much xtra oomph
more than likely you will need it fitting at a specialest tuner as more than likely the ECU will need flashing aswell

as for a 1.6 manifold, im not sure i dunno anyone thats done it so i couldnt say
that said you can buy a Dblias flowtec manifold for the x14xe (not cheap tho)
with that and a chip should see an xtra 20ish bhp

need to get the engine breathing,so best things to get power out of the x14 is decent straight thru exhaust system and manifold, and get a perfomance inlet manifold, decent induction, other than that without spendind hundreds..strip it!!! lol

you cnt buy a chip and just fit it in,. you will need to get your engine re-mapped wich cost around £300 + the chips price.
3 things you can do to increase power/speed
-stripping inside of car of anything you dont need
-good exhaust system
-good induction kit

every1 says stip it but taking out the back seats makes no difference at all

to feel any sort of difference you need to totally gut the car
