Right got a 1994 1.4 corsa its the c14se engine, if car has been left to go cold it will only start with foot on accelerator and as soon as you lift up it dies, once its warm its fine runs good and stops, starts no probs. During driving eml light lights up at random stays for a bit and goes out, no running probs while driving tho. Having read various different forums I have spent a whole day yesterday in the rain removing the maf meter, idle control valve/stepper, throttle body and map sensor from the car, all have been stripped down (if possible) and cleaned up like new got it all back together and presto exactly the same . not very happy now so back on google. found out that pressing the 2 clock buttons together reads fault codes on the clock/radio display so had a go at that: put key in ignition, turned it till dash lights came on and pressed the 2. first f12 came up and flashed 3 times then f95 flashed three times. gone back to google and forums with result and apparently f12 means initiating diagnostics and f95 means 'cold start sensor low volts' any ideas where or what that is as i think it may be fooked. or likewise if any one has had same prob and sorted it get in touch, dont really wanna go down changing maf and idle control unless i know its one of em at fault.

Well your idle control valve is for cold starts so look for something eletrical in that area.

well up to this point i have spent about half hour with rac patrol when it first refused to start, then about 2 hours at work trying to fix it, then all yesterday as per last post, went to scrappy today got an icv and a air flow meter, to this point its been either broad day light or in a workshop, but today at 8pm bouncing down with rain and pitch black i fitted both icv and maf meter which did nothing then in the light of my torch i saw it a wire has broken off icv plug. Pushed it back in and bingo running better than before fu**ing cars.

ah well is usualy the case
least its sorted now eh

tell you what tho before i got my new ibiza, i decided to take the sub out of my old car, so took it all out
come to use the car the next day and for some reason the powersteering wouldnt work, so heres me checking all the wires n all plugs connected
had the battery out and the battery holder had my friend over the road come give me a hand
even had it on the computer trying to find the fault

turns out it was the fuse, it hadnt blown i had connected the live from the sub to it, and when reconnecting it i hadnt tightnind it up enough!

6 hours work for a lose nut

all i need to do now is get to scrappy and get a plug with a few inch of wire on it to solder in place. Cheers for help tho, thaught it was summat to do with idle control.
