Bought a Corsa b very soon after got an engine warning light at around 3200 revs, engine also hesitant. Took it to local garage and they told me the EGR valve required replacing, did this low and behold problem even worse, took it back to garage they diagonosed that new vaux part was sending incompatable signal. £'s are now starting to rack up, so put old EGR valve back, tried resetting ECU by disconnecting -ve battery terminal for an hour. Checked all plugs each one indicating engine firing ok according to Haynes manual. Can't hear ay split pipe sucking around inlet valve, also when you boot accelrator to floor it's almost as if the engine is misfiring or is being flooded with fuel then splutters back into action, also fault is more noticable when engine cold. Any thoughts or ideas, my guess from what i've read is the airflow meter but I'm no expert, all replies greatly appreciated.

The fault being different when hot and cold leads me to the idle control valve which is similar to a choke. Try cleaning/replacing this.
Did you get the fault codes read?

They read the codes on their diagnostic machine and just told me it was the egr valve.
