Loud Noise When Accelerating

Hi guys, I recently had a new exhaust fitted during an MOT (about a month ago) when i got the car back it sounded great, but over the last month the car has started to make a lot of noise (not a rattling noise, but a loud hum) which is becoming progressively worse, the noise seems to be louder depending on how hard I accelerate, and when the car is static it seems to be fine (at least when i start it up) today it became unbearable. I spoke to someone concerning this and he seemed to think it was my exhaust, it feels like it it coming from the bottom front of the car, and he thought that it was getting looser gradually... i cant go back to the garage that fitted the exhaust as its located about 35miles from where i am now and I wouldnt risk taking it on the motorway, im wondering if it is just loose and the exhaust fumes are escaping from the 'lose' connection if its something I can do myself or if anyone thinks it might be something else causing the noise...

Regards
James

it cud be a few things mate, cud be loose exhaust clamps, or it cud be hitting the rear axel. jack up the car and give it a wiggle see if you can see any thing obvious.

Sounds like the exhaust has slipped on the clamps and is rubbing on the body. Take it back to where you had it fitted and ask them to re-align it.
