corsa b 1.0 - engine light comes on after air filter change

hi all
My mate put a sports air filter in my car (cone air filter). I took it out today and i reached 60, changed to 5th and accelerated. The accelerator didnt feel respnsive, and the engine light came on. Then it reduces to 50 and it all happens again
Can u guys help please?

Sounds like M.A.F sensor, maybe youve upset it puttin your air filter in, its a good pointer when you get over 60 and then engine doesnt wanna know. good luck.

Yup pretty certain its a maf. I had exactly the same problem in my 1.2 16 valve (same maf). I think these meters are a bit temperamental tbh lol. Best bet m8 is try your local scrappys for one (usually about 20 quid) or try looking on ebay - usually about 40/50 new. A word of warning though - dont get cheaper non-genuine vauxhall parts as they are pretty crap and will cost u more in the long run than the real deal.
As for fitting its a 2 min job - if you to to a scrappy try and get the whole little 't junction' pipe thingy and just slot it on (will need some new clips though) or if you just get the parts its 3 allen key bolts (pretty common size). Whichever way round it shouldn't take u more than 10 mins

yes should allgo bk to how it was, if you want a induction type, get replacement filter panels (greencotton best)

Dont know about the air filter but that is defiantly the right part - for a good price as well
