Corsa-B.uk - Vauxhall, Opel and Holden Corsa B Owners Club

I've got a Corsa B for a while now, all's good, no problems , like the way it drives despite the low BHP and it's perfect for what I need it, 90% city driving..

One thing that annoys me a bit is the lack of a fuel warning light. This model (1.2 8v) is not fitted with a tachometer...I can live without that since i'm not at all a sporty driver.. more of a hyper-miler. And that's where my frustration comes from. I was actually quite surprised to find out that some Corsa Models were not fitted with a fuel warning light..I don't really get it why they did that since the cost of fitting one would've probly been few pence so I don't understand why they didn't put one.

To get past that...my question is to all you talented electricians: is there any way of fitting some sort of LED light or something like that ? I know it's possible to just get a Tigra or higher-end Corsa but I'm not living in the UK so it's not so easy, nor cheap to get my hands on one of those...it would problably end up costing few months worth of gas, hence it makes no sense to do that.

I've noted some discussions about this matter saying that the models without a tachometer/fuel warning light still have all the wiring in place so it should be theoretically (hopefully practically as well) possible to do a MOD and install some sort of light.

Any help on this will be HIGHLY appreciated !

BTW...so far, after about 5000 km i'm able to get about 6.8 l/100km which works out to 41.54 MPG (imperial). That is about the same as the manufacturer ratings which shouldn't be too bad considering that I get thru about 20 traffic lights on my daily driving route and never go above 55-60 mph, mostly its way below that.

Easyest way would be to fit a set of clocks (speedo) with a techometer (rev counter).

Tbh you don't need a fuel warning light - just look at the meter. When it goes into the red and stays there for a few miles like 20 or 30 then its time to fill up. Or just fill up when you hit the red. The light is pretty meaningless tbh as the gauge shows how much gas u got left
