Why does my battery keep going flat in my corsa?
The car drives ok once jump started and everything else works great. Car does not start up on cold mornings. But when jump started, it runs all day long with out any problems. What could this be? Which battery would you recommend for corsa? Its a 2000 CORSA ENVOY 12V 973 cc MANUAL. ta.

sounds like your starter motor but im not sure.
battery specs
Voltage AH CCA (SAE) Length (mm) Width (mm) Case Height (mm) Height (mm)
12 40 360 207 175 175 175
or simply take it to a garage/dealership and tell them what you require

if you take it halfords its the HB063 worth £59.99 and you get a 3 year warranty. or for £10 iirc you can get a heavy duty/calcium one with a 4 year warranty.
but its either the starter motor or alternator

How can it be the startor motor going ? I thought the car only used the startor motor to initially start the car ? Sorry if im being dumb haha. Can understand if the alternator going ... not charging the battery.

new battery should fix it. sound like battery abit gone . and your stereo/alarm/clock overnight will die the battery out so:
in mornings the battery wont have enuff power to send to the starter motor ( making it not work )
once cars goin alternator will charge battery back up ( thats why it will work then )

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts
Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

Re: Why does my battery keep going flat in my corsa?
sounds like the battery to me, worn out.
when you try and start it cold does it try to start or can you hear it trying to turn the engine over
usualy for a flat battery it would sound really slow, not enought amps to spin the starter motor fast enough
your starter motor is powerd by the battery all it does it spins your engine untill it fires
when you push start (or bump start) a car instead of using the starter motor your using the cars wheels in motion to turn the engine and fire it.
if it will start with a jump start (ie connecting your battery to another cars battery) then its not your starter motor, its your battery

Re: Why does my battery keep going flat in my corsa?
It is a dead cell in the battery. So, new battery, I am afraid. Frosty weather soon shows up a poor battery, the starter and alternator are fine. Sorry, I have posted so late, I have just found this post.
Should really introduce myself, I am an oldie, newie to this forum, and have been browsing through the site, a lot of friendly banter on here, and a lot of good info., Glad I found it.
