cd and speakers

Post by Corsa84 »

hello again folks, ive just bought these today

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165474

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165707

ive fitted loads of stereos in the past, ive got the speaker adapters for the front doors, and the 6x9s are going in the parcel shelf,my question is will i have to wire the 6x9s directly to the cd player,or is there any existing wires for rear speakers in my car even tho i dont have rear speakers as standard?

i assume if there is wiring there already i would have to get to it from the plastic covers for the rear lights in the boot?

or could i wire them up either way?

Cheers.
I'd rather push a Corsa,than drive anything else. : )

Stereo very good, door speakers very good. Alpine 6*9's not very good. No base to them. I should know i work for Halfords!! lol. I would personally have the infinity 6*9's for £49.99. good bass and good treble!

Fair enough. each to there own. when i compared them in our audio board i always thought they were the weakest! (well other than the ripspeed 1's!!) lol. Might have changed them in last few months since changed store! New store we've only got 1 pair of speakers working as the board switch panel has broken!!

If you've got no wiring, you need to run some to the back of your car. Pretty simple, i had to do it. Could do with a wiring diagram (e.g. haynes manual). In the passenger footwell you should have the under glovebox tray, remove that and then on the far left is a curved footpanel. You need to remove that to find to big plugs with wiring going to them. should have wires from engine bay, stereo, speedo etc, in the top and then the bottom half runs wherever. You should find wires running to the top and then no wires in the bottom section. Plug the wires into these and then run the wires under the plastic panels through to the boot.

Read my section about speakers in the FAQ section for more details!
