As standard they are pretty much the same as the 1.6 16 valve corsas up you can increase the boost on them and make them pretty nippy. They aint ever gonna be as quick as a 1.6 petrol tho m8

ive got a td its a solid engine as standard is about as quick as a 1.4 and with easy tuning can easily see 100bhp and tourqe to match

best thing about diesel corsas is you can run em on svo, most newer diesel engines you cant
plus u can tweak the boost up on em give it a bit more poke, alot easier than trying make a petrol car faster!

just got myself one of the 1.5 turbo diesels for free, boy thought he has snapped the nearside driveshaft and was going to scrap it, there was nothing wrong with it other than the flat tire
well until i went to shift it tonight and found that the starter motor has gone, so back to the garage it goes, only got it back yesterday and was running fine, got to fit the lowering springs, new breaks, induction kit and back box this week, then get the kit rubbed down, primed and sprayed, then fitted, planning on smoothing out the whole body, seamless, its a 5 door so obviously cant do too much, but poppers on the doors and boot, door strip off and then the panels, should look good after a repray, its burgandy atm, thinking of doing a black and white theme, spray the alloys white and the car black.
